Airport Lighting

This customer has been involved in aviation lighting for more than 60 years, with vast experience in the design, development, supply, installation and commissioning of airfield lighting equipment and systems.

A full range of airfield ground lighting and control systems has been supplied to over 500 airports around the World. Products include obstruction lighting, helipad and shipboard lighting, roadway/inset lighting, portable lighting, constant current regulators (CCRs) and starting/servicing equipment for offshore and naval operations.

Each individual item must be identified with rating plate information. They must also identfy each carton with content information. Silver polyester labels and resin thermal transfer ribbon [pdf] are used on a Zebra S600 to produce the rating labels. The same machine prints outer carton information using paper labels and wax ribbon.

Prior to purchasing the labelling system labels were bought-in fully printed. This was deemed to be inflexible and too costly. Now labels can be produced as and when required wth variable data being entered onto the labels at print time.
